Ronald Wheeler, age 70, of Fargo, North Dakota, died Monday, June 15, 2009, in Palliative Care Unit at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Ronald Charles Wheeler was born July 4, 1938, the son of Richard and Mary (Grant) Wheeler near Ulen, Minnesota where he was raised. He attended school at Ulen High School, graduating with the class of 1956. As a young man, Ron began working in Fargo as a sheet metal worker. In 1959, Ron was united in marriage to Marilyn Campball and to this union two sons were born. They made their home in the Fargo-Moorhead community. They divorced in 1963. Ron continued to make his home in Fargo and worked in construction. In 1967 Ron was united in marriage to Karen Sivertson. The couple made their home in Felton, Minnesota. In the mid 70's Ron returned to Fargo to live. After his retirement at the age of 62, he continued to make his home there until the time of his death.
Ron was avid golfer as well as lover of horses. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Union for most of his life.
Ron is survived by two sons, Patrick Wheeler of the Twin Cities, MN, Michael Wheeler of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and a daughter, Renae Jensen of Ulen, MN; a brother, Ralph Wheeler of Stanley, ND and two sisters, Shirley (Al) Dorseth of Little Falls, MN and Joyce (Henry) Dire of Denver, CO; three granddaughters and one great-grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 22 at 11:00 am in Maranatha Free Lutheran Church in Ulen, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church on Monday. Officiating will be Pastor Curt Frankhauser with Mary Ann Schneidermann serving as organist. Pallbearers will be Mike Dorseth, Mark Dorseth, Ricky Dire, David Meyer, Charles Wheeler and Jeffery Wheeler.
Burial will take place in the West Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Ulen.
