Ronald "Ronny" Mickelson, age 84, of Ada, MN, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at his home.

Ronald Allen, the son of Lloyd and Clarice (Eggen) Mickelson was born on April 17, 1941.  He grew up west of Ada and attended Ada public school.  Ronny spent his entire life living and working on the family farm, which was a place he loved dearly and devoted himself to. On November 1, 1977, Ronald was united in marriage to Deborah Spaeth. Together they built a life and raised their family. Ronald was a hardworking, dependable man who could fix nearly anything. His ability to tinker and repair was matched only by his willingness to help those he loved.  In his retirement years, Ronny especially cherished his quiet county life and found joy in simple pleasures. He spent hours ice fishing, hunting, and gopher trapping. He looked forward to time spent with his grandchildren, Bryce and Ava, on the farm. From gardening to go-carts and deer hunting, watching his grandchildren live farm-life gave Ronny great satisfaction and pride.  He had a tenderness towards animals and doted on his beloved dogs. As a private and conservative man, Ronny was most comfortable surrounded by his family, simply sharing a beer together while telling stories.  Above all, farming was his life's work and greatest passion. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his devotion to his children and grandchildren, and his unwavering love for the land he called home.

Ronny is survived by his wife, Deborah; sons, Jeffrey (Misty) and Michael; his daughter, Cassandra (Mary); his sister, Janis (Buck); and two grandchildren, Bryce and Ava.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Sonja Clare.

A time of gathering will be held at the Borup Community Hall in Borup, MN on Saturday, September 13, 2025, beginning at 3:30pm with a meal served at 5:00pm.
