Ronald Knutson, age 80, of Hawley, MN, died Friday, December 17, 2021 at his home.

Ronald "Ron or Knute" was born May 17, 1941 to George and Clara (Ulland) Knutson Thortvedt in Halstad, MN. He grew up near Blanchard, ND, then later Ulen, MN for his last two years of high school. Ron enjoyed playing football during his school years, but physically paid for it later in life. On November 25, 1972, Ron and Helen (Vestre) were united in marriage at Atlanta Lutheran Church in rural Ulen. The couple made their home in Syre, MN, where they stayed for 14 years. Later, they settled on a farm southwest of Ulen where they have made their home since. Ron spent 40 years at Aggregate Industries driving gravel semi and later retired in 2016. Ron was often tinkering around with mechanics in his spare time. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and going camping with his family and friends.

Ron is survived by his wife, Helen; brother, David Knutson of Fertile; sister, Janice (Clifford) Helgedalen of Ulen; several nieces and nephews; niece-in-law, Debbie Helgedalen; aunt, Madelyn Ullend; several cousins; and many great nieces and nephews. Ron is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Stanley and Jerry; nieces, Elaine and Laura; nephews, Craig and Chris Helgedalen.
