Ronald "Ron"
Bellcourt
Dec 18, 1955 — Mar 30, 2026
Minneapolis
Ronald "Ron" Bellcourt, age 70, of Minneapolis, MN, died Monday, March 30, 2026, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN.
Ronald Eugene Bellcourt was born on December 18, 1955, in White Earth, MN, to Joseph and Grace (LaChappelle) Bellcourt. He attended school in White Earth, and following his father's passing, his family relocated to Minneapolis. Ron moved back to the White Earth area for several years and during that time, he had one of the proudest moments of his life - becoming a father to his son, Joseph. Ron later moved back to the Twin Cities area. Over the years, he worked a wide range of jobs in many different roles, earning a reputation as a true jack-of-all-trades.
Ron will be remembered for his upbeat spirit and the joy he brought to those around him. He had a way of lighting up a room and was often the life of the party. He loved telling long, drawn-out jokes that always ended with a great punchline, much to the delight of his family. Time spent together meant everything to Ron, and he especially enjoyed family gatherings. In recent years, he cherished living with his sister, Donna, and the time they shared. Ron was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He also enjoyed playing cards—whether it was a quiet game of solitaire or a lively round of poker with others.
Ron is survived by his son, Joseph Azure; significant other, Linda Azure; stepsons, Tom and Robert Azure; siblings: Raymond (Deb) Bellcourt, Donna Manypenny (Steve Wright), and Sharon (Simon) Day; and many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Leroy "Delray" Bellcourt, Wayne Bellcourt, Diane Bellcourt, and Richard Bellcourt; and several extended family members.
An all-night wake will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, starting at 4:30pm, at the White Earth Community Center. Visitation will continue until the funeral service which will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 11:00am, at the White Earth Community Center.
