Roger Huber, age 62, of Mahnomen, MN, died Monday, June 4, 2012 at his home under Essentia Health Hospice of Fosston.
Roger James Huber was born October 19, 1949 in Hendricks, Minnesota, to Russell and Delores (Zgoda) Huber. Following high school, he was drafted into the United States Army and served during Vietnam. On March 19, 1972 he was honorably discharged and returned to the Marshall, Minnesota, area. Roger met Mary Lou Teichert and they were united in marriage on October 26, 1974 in Marshall. The couple made their home in Marshall and began their family. In 1982, they moved to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, followed by Colorado in 1987. Roger and Mary lived in Colorado until 1989 when they made the move to California for several years before returning to Mahnomen in 2009. Over the years, Roger worked many different jobs like road construction, parts manager, welder and hotel management to name a few.
Overall, Roger was an outdoor enthusiast. He loved hunting, fishing and camping but also enjoyed the simpler things like mowing his lawn and puttering around in the yard. Roger also took a liking to the sport of NASCAR.
Roger was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen, Ducks Unlimited and the Mahnomen American Legion Isaacson-Bjorge Post #31.
Surviving Roger is his wife, Mary, of Mahnomen; son, Nicholas and Nicole Huber and their daughter, Lilly, of Harrisburg, Oregon; daughter, Natasha and Rose Huber-Britt of Mahnomen; his mother, Delores Huber of Marshall; two brothers, Richard and Doris Huber of Ghent, Minnesota, and Randal and Jan Huber of Alexandria, Minnesota; one sister, Jeanne and Milo Serreyn of Las Vegas, Nevada; mother-in-law, Johanna Teichert of Mahnomen and several nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell, and father-in-law, Gustave Teichert.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 3 pm with visitation from 1-3 pm all at the Anderson~Mattson Funeral Home, Mahnomen.
