Rocky Hamlin, age 54, of Lengby, MN, died Wednesday March 7, 2012 at his residence.

Rocky Lee Hamlin, the son of Sol and Dorothy (Annawaush) Hamlin, was born on April 15, 1957 in White Earth, MN. He grew up in the Pine Bend, MN, area and attended school in Fosston, MN. As a young man, he worked for John Burdick Logging as well as Marvin Windows for a time. Over twenty years ago, Rocky met the love of his life, Rebecca Faulconer, and in 1999 the couple married. Together they lived in the state of Washington where Rocky worked for the Northwest Garage Door Company for several years. In the mid 2000's, they moved back to Pine Bend to make their home. Rocky was currently employed at Minnesota Dehydrated Vegetables in Fosston.


Rocky had a wonderful sense of humor and befriended nearly everyone he met. He was always joking, laughing, and visiting with those around him. He enjoyed being outdoors and spent many hours hunting, fishing, and keeping busy in his yard. He was also a "grease monkey" and loved to tinker around fixing things. He was not afraid to work and his hands were never idle. By far most important to Rocky was his family, he was dedicated to them and was a devoted husband. He had a very special relationship with his Uncle George and cherished the many special times they had together. Rocky will be missed by all who knew him.


Rocky is survived by his wife, Rebecca of Pine Bend; one son, Jared (Janna) Hamlin; two daughters: Misty (Richard) Blair of Alma, AK , and Dawn (Ralph) Ostengarden of Tacoma, WA; four sisters: Rosella (Gerald) Sovick of Warroad, MN, Beverly (Kent) Midbo of Bagley, MN, Laura Spicer of Fosston, and Georgette (David) Christensen of Apple Valley, MN; four grandchildren: Timothy and Tyler Blair and Seth and Preston Hamlin; his dear uncle, George Annawaush; and numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Charley Annawaush and Margarte (Portz) Annawaush; one brother, Charles Hamlin; and two sisters: Olive Folstrom and Ruth Larson.


A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, on Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Anderson-Mattson Funeral Home in Mahnomen, MN. A time of gathering will begin one hour prior to the service on Monday.
