Obituary

Robert Pierce, age 72, of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Monday May 19, 2014, in Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley.

Robert J. Pierce was born January 20, 1942, at Kadoka, South Dakota, the son of John and Thelma (Fuerst) Pierce. He grew on a ranch near Murdo, South Dakota and graduated from high school in White River. In 1962, he enrolled in college at the School of Mines in Rapid City and it was here he meet his wife, June Smith. After their marriage he was employed different places before entering the Army in 1968. After his discharge, Robert returned to the Rapid City area and worked as a surveyor for the highway department. In 1982, Robert graduated from the School of Mines with a Civil Engineer degree. He continued to work and live in Rapid City. Shortly after becoming an engineer he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and was forced into retirement. He moved to Fargo, North Dakota, where he could receive treatment and in 1999 he became a resident of the Twin Valley Living Center. He had made his home there since.

In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Robert is survived by three sons, Ladden and Shawn both of Granda Hills, CA and Lindell of Las Vegas, NV; five sisters, Janet, Sharon, and Karen all of Rapid City, SD, Kay of Alliance, NE and Linda of Moorhead, MN; two brothers, Allen of Montrose, IA and Terry of Rapid City, SD.

Memorial Services were held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in the Twin Valley Living Center Chapel, Twin Valley.
