Robert J. Laymon, 68, of Perley, MN, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at his residence.

It is with deep sorrow and loving hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert Jay Laymon. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family.

Robert was born on October 22, 1957, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Wilma Laymon-Boudreau and Robert Jay Moore. From an early age, he carried a strong spirit and a deep sense of independence that would shape the man he became.

He lived life on his own terms—with a kind heart and a deep appreciation for freedom. He had a passion for motorcycles and found peace on the open road, where he felt most alive. He also loved eagles, admiring their strength and freedom, which reflected so much of who he was.

Robert enjoyed the outdoors and found great happiness in camping trips, spending time at the lake, and fishing. Those moments brought him peace and created lasting memories with the people he loved most.

Robert didn't have a specific career; he worked a variety of occupations, including many years at Crystal Sugar, driving trucks and working on buses. He loved working on motorcycles as well. He was a wonderful handyman and could fix up about anything.

His love and pride for his family were undeniable. His greatest pride was in his daughters and grandchildren, whom he loved deeply and unconditionally. Known for his great sense of humor, kindness, and his ability to spark up a conversation with anyone, Robert had a way of making people feel like they had known him forever.

He wore many titles throughout his life—from Dad to "Biker Bob" to "Big Bob" to "Papa"—each one reflecting the love and connection he shared with those around him.

Robert married the love of his life, Joslyn Laymon, on August 4th, 1989, in Durant, Oklahoma, with three of his daughters present for this special union—a moment that reflected the deep love and bond they shared as a family.

He was a man of integrity, hard work, and quiet wisdom. He led by example and taught those around him the value of honesty, loyalty, and perseverance. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simply his presence, he brought comfort and joy to those he loved.

One of Robert's greatest dreams was to own a piece of land to leave behind for his family—and he accomplished that dream. That special place will forever hold his legacy, as it will be where his ashes are spread and where he will find his final resting place.

Robert found happiness in the simple things—time with family, meaningful conversations, and moments of peace. His love for his family was fierce and unwavering.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Joslyn Laymon; daughters: Crystal Laymon-Mesna(Scott Mesna), Brandy Brown (Jr Brown), Cassandra Gonzales (Laymon), Dori Laymon (Zues Santiago), Jennifer Christeson (Jerry), Shawn Simons; many grandchildren: Dominic Laymon, Anthony Laymon, Skyler Laymon, Austin Rocha, Izak Rocha, Ricky Gonzales Jr, Jazmine Rocha, Christian Alexander, Kingston Alexander, Tylee Rocha, Chastyn Alexander, Emilio Gonzales, Narcisso Gonzales,  Amira Wood, Baylee Coleman, Payton Mesna, Taylor Mesna, Ethan Mesna, Bridget, Jacob, Colton, Andrew, Zoey, Tanya, Savannah, Sapphire, Little Robert; great grandchildren: Franklyn, Elias, Rory, Archer, Meliyah, Phoenix, Aria, Gaia, Deacon, and Ona; sister, Wilma Denie Allison-Feest (Albert); brothers, George Jeffrey Boudreau (Candi), Michael Laymon (Stacia); nieces, Shardae Feest, Brittany Piliouras (Dean); nephews: Tyson Allison (Michelle), Reed Boudreau (Amy), Steven Burgess, Bobby Joe Burgess (Tonya); many great nieces and nephews. Along with many other loving family members and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Laymon-Boudreau; father, Robert Moore; brother Claudell "Bo" Burgess; son Randy Simons; and grandparents, Charlie Layman and Thelma Beames Laymon.

Funeral Service: 2:00PM Saturday, May 30, 2026, with visitation one hour before the service at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Homes, Halstad, MN.
