Robert Johnson, 80, of Columbia Heights, MN, died Monday, March 14, 2016, in his home.

Robert Lowell Johnson was born May 21, 1935, the son of Russel and Viola (Sholes) Johnson, in Twin Valley. He grew up and attended school in Twin Valley, Graduating from Twin Valley High School with the class of 1954. Bob served his country, entering the United States Army in 1959. After his honorable discharge, Bob moved to the Minneapolis area where he was employed for the city of Minneapolis. He retired at the age of 62 after 30 years of employment. Bob had currently lived in Columbia Heights where he resided until the time of his death.

Bob's favorite pastimes included playing cards and working crossword puzzles.

Bob is survived by his siblings: Roland (Kathy) Johnson of Moorhead, MN, Jim (Judy) Johnson of Australia, Susan (Chuck) Keogh of Waubun, MN, and Delores (Orin) Erickson of Minneapolis, MN, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Duane, and sister, Beverly Groslie.

A Memorial Service was held Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 11:00 AM in Anderson Family Funeral Home, Twin Valley with a time of gathering one hour prior to the service. Officiating was Pastor Julie Malone with Monica Winter providing special music. Military honors were provided by the Twin Valley Nesseth-Lien Post #431 of the American Legion and the MN National Guard Honor Guard.
