Watch Bob's Funeral Mass

Robert "Bob" Holl, 89, of Waubun MN, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 7, 2026.

Bob was born in April, 1937 and grew up on the family farm in Waubun. After attending the Popple Grove one-room schoolhouse through 8th grade, he graduated from Waubun High School in 1955.  Bob enjoyed playing football in high school and was proud to be a Bomber. In the fall, he could often be found on Friday nights watching them play.

After high school, Bob worked on the family farm alongside his dad before eventually taking over the operation. Farming was Bob's passion. He cherished the opportunity to care for the land that has been in his family for over 100 years and carry on a heritage that connected generations. Over the years, the farm was a place where family worked side by side, with Bob's wife, children and grandchildren joining him in the work he loved. He retired last fall at the age of 88.

In 1963, Bob met the love of his life, Kathy Bisek, at the Rancho. They married in April, 1964 and spent the next 62 years building a life together marked by deep love, steadfast devotion, and shared strength. Together, they had seven children and raised their family in a home filled with love, laughter, and unconditional support.

Bob found joy in simple moments and quiet satisfaction in an honest day of hard work. Always curious, he loved learning – whether about advancements in agriculture, history, or the person sitting beside him. He enjoyed traveling and new experiences. At a museum, you could count on Bob to read every sign, never wanting to miss an opportunity to discover something new.

A great storyteller, he was guaranteed to make you laugh. Whether it was a card game, a round of pool, or a polka dance, Bob was always ready for a bit of fun. He took delight in his family and was happiest when surrounded by them. His selflessness, warmth, eternal optimism, and generous heart will be remembered forever.

He was a man of deep faith and a lifelong member of St. Ann's Catholic Church.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy; and their children: Mike (Ann) Holl, Yvonne (Mark) Bradle, Becky (Gerry) Hegre, Amy (Justin) Chorne, and Andrea (Allen) Pfennig; his grandchildren: Tony, Xavier, Brianna, Madeline, Max, Charlie, Katie, Keenan, Matt, Chris, Josh, Ian, Luke, Sophie, Olivia, Avery, and Lainey, who will deeply miss him and will have lots of wonderful stories and memories to share with his great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Marie Holl; his siblings: Elaine, Carolyn, Jack, and Ted; and two of his children, Tonia and Sam.

Visitation will take place at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Waubun on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with a Prayer Service and Rosary beginning at 6:30 pm, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.  Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. Ann's Catholic Church.  Burial will be in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Waubun.
