Obituary

Robert "Bob" Gnadt, 89, longtime McIntosh, MN, resident, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at McIntosh Senior Living.


Robert Leroy Gnadt was born to John and Laura (Gilsoul) Gnadt on his family's farm south of Beltrami, MN, on March 10, 1924. He was raised and educated in Ada, MN. Robert enlisted in the US Navy during WWII, as a Seaman First Class. He served in the Pacific from 1942 to 1944, before his honorable discharge. Upon his discharge, he returned to Minnesota where he went into his life-long profession as a barber. He also enjoyed spending time fishing and woodworking. Robert married Doreen Bennefeld in 1945. To this union, two daughters were born, Jeri and Janie.


Preceding Robert in death were his parents, John and Laura, brothers, John (Jack), Charles "Chuck", and Laurence "Pete", and two sisters, Hazel Gnadt Oslund, and Raima Gnadt Doeden. He is survived by his daughters, Jeri Knudtson, Colorado Springs, CO and Jane (Tony) Bauer from Nisswa, MN, many nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law, Orlaine Gnadt, of Ada, MN.

Funeral: 1:00 Friday, December 27, 2013, at Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.

Burial: Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Ada, MN.
