Robert A. Gigler, 96, Ada, MN, died at Grand Forks, ND, on Sunday, May 19, 2013.

Robert was born April 13, 1917, at home on the farm near Ada, the son of Frank and Martha (Duenow) Gigler. He grew up and attended country school near Ada. From 1940 to 1955, he farmed in Green Meadow Township rural Ada. Robert was united in marriage to Lorraine Larson on March 1, 1940, in Ada. He moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1955 and worked as a finish carpenter for many years as they also lived in Washington and California, before settling in Coon Rapids, MN. Lorraine died in 2000 and Robert continued to live at home until recently moving to Bridges Care Community in Ada.

Robert is survived by his sons, Byron (Cindy), Brooklyn Park, MN, Dwight (Betty), and Jeffrey, both of Coon Rapids, MN, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brothers, Leslie (Lois), Dennis (Jan), both of Ada, Alvin (Fran) of Fertile, MN, one sister, Arlene Gigler, Ada, MN, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, wife, Lorraine, daughter and son-in-law, Rochelle and James Schultz, a brother Lawrence Gigler, and sister, Rosebell Gigler.

Funeral: 12:00 Noon, Saturday, May 25, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Ada, MN.

Visitation: Friday from 5-7PM at Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada, and Saturday for one hour before the service at the church.

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
