Robena Margaret Johnson, 81, of Hendrum, MN, died on Friday, October 21, 2011, at Sanford Palliative Care Hospital, Fargo, ND. She was born on February 9, 1930, in Hendrum, MN to Rudolph and Margaret (Lusso) Knutson. Robena graduated from the Hendrum High School in 1949.
In 1951, Robena was united in marriage to Donald Johnson in Hendrum. They lived in Cummings, ND, until 1961, when Robena moved to Minneapolis, MN, working with Honeywell Corp. She retired in 1985 and returned to Hendrum.
Being protective of her brothers when she was younger, Robena was a great older sister. When she could, Robena enjoyed travelling, making one trip to Germany. In the last years having lunch with old classmates brought her a lot of joy.
Robena is survived by her siblings: Elvera Hoger, Coon Rapids, MN; Anna Mae Tikkanen, Brooklyn Park, MN; "Bruce" Robert (Myrtle) Knutson, Moorhead, MN; Roger (Kathleen) Knutson, Anoka, MN; and "Dorothy" Helen Morris, Casselton, ND; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Alan, and a nephew, Bobby Knutson.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 2 pm in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hendrum, MN.
Visitation will be one hour before the services at the church.
Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hendrum, MN.
