Richard M. Miller was born May 21, 1946, in Fosston, MN, the son of Ervin and Florence (Voit) Miller. He grew up in the Mahnomen, MN, area and graduated from high school with the class of 1965. Following graduation, Rick entered the work force. He started at Cenex in Climax, MN, but soon after began driving truck for Melvin Wang. He worked for several years driving truck, even spending a couple years in Alaska. On April 10, 1972, Rick was united in marriage to Dyanne Chester. The couple made their home in the Fertile area where Rick started Rick Miller Trucking in 1979 which eventually turned into JC & J Trucking. In addition to his trucking business, Rick also owned and operated the Bejou Elevator for many years. Over the years, Rick's main past time was working! So, when his health began to decline last year after a cancer diagnosis, and he was forced to slow down it was a tough road to travel. However, his spirit and sense of humor didn't waiver. He enjoyed being around family, especially his grandchildren and made many wonderful memories on a recent trip to California with all of them. Rick also enjoyed watching old westerns, fishing and doing a little target shooting. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
