Watch Rickie's Funeral

Rickie Clark Jr, age 52, of Mahnomen, MN, died on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND, surrounded by family.

Rickie Lee was born in Mahnomen on September 25, 1969, to Frances Lindberg and Rickie Clark Sr.  He grew up in the Lengby, MN, area and attended school in Fosston, MN.  Following his graduation from Fosston High School in 1988, Rickie furthered his education at Wadena Vo-Tech for Telecommunications.  He returned to the area and began working with his dad at Northern Drywall.  In 1992, Rickie met the love of his life, Sheila Busse.  They were united in marriage on October 13, 1997 and made their home in Lengby while Rickie worked out of the Twin Cities.  They moved to the Mahnomen area to put down roots and were blessed with two children, Wyatt and Whitney.  Rickie continued to work as a heavy equipment operator for several different companies over the next 20+ years, only to retire early after becoming disabled.  He then started a lawn care/snow removal business with his son, Wyatt.  In 2016, Rickie and Sheila opened their door and hearts by doing foster care in their home for several children and their family grew in size with the blessings of two additional sons by adoption, Jesse and Mikey, in addition to the many other foster children they have loved.

Rickie was a true outdoorsman.  He loved spending time in the woods, ice fishing, hunting, riding snowmobile and 4-wheeler.  When he wasn't doing the previously mentioned, he could often be found in his garage tinkering or fixing on those small engines.  Rickie liked splitting wood and even tried his hand at maple syruping.  He enjoyed family get-togethers and the annual 4 th of July fish fry.  As his health declined and he became less mobile, Rickie would pass the time by watching Tik-Toks on his phone.  He had a great sense of humor, always ready with a good joke and a cold beverage.  Above all, Rickie loved his family and was a great husband and dad, known as the rock and disciplinarian of the family.  He was proud to be working on their dream home for all of them.  He will be missed by many but live on in their hearts forever.

Rickie Jr. is survived by his wife, Sheila; daughter, Whitney (significant other, Tate Finck) Clark; sons: Wyatt, Jesse and Mikey Clark all of Mahnomen; eight foster children; two sisters, Brenda (Dave) Post of Becker, MN, and Laurie (Mili) Clark of Lengby; three brothers: Jason Clark of Mounds View, MN, Jedidiah Clark of Lengby and Aaron Clark of Minneapolis, MN; aunts Carol LaFriniere also of Minneapolis and Beverly Lee of Cass Lake, MN; several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family on Sheila's side.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and mom, Frances.

Blessed be the memory of Rickie Clark Jr.
