Rhoda Evanson, age 85, of Hawley, MN, died on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Rhoda Ione Anderson was born February 24, 1936, to Leo and Myrtle (Lundstrom) Anderson. She was born, raised, attended school, and lived all her life in Hawley. As a young woman, she lived with her parents while working in Fargo, ND at American Linen. In 1959, Rhoda was united in marriage to Clifford Marvig.  The couple farmed near Hawley where they raised their family. For 25 years, Rhoda was employed as a baker at Carl's Lefse. In 1995, Clifford passed away and Rhoda continued to reside in Hawley. On September 4, 1999, Rhoda was united in marriage to Ralph Evanson.

Rhoda's favorite time of year was when the family would rent a cabin on the lake for a week each year. They would gather for the week and loved time away with each other. Rhoda was an avid fan of Neal McCoy, making sure to see him perform at We Fest each time he came. She also enjoyed attending other concerts and occasional trips to the casino.

Rhoda is survived by her children, David Marvig of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Mark (Mary) Marvig of Moorhead, MN; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Marvig; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Clifford and Ralph; son, Glenn; and daughter-in-law, Tina.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Hawley Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with a family service beginning at 6:30 pm on Friday, November 12, 2021. Burial will be in Hawley Lutheran Cemetery.

Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, and CDC guidelines, social distancing will be practiced. Masks are strongly encouraged.
