Rebecca Ann Preisler, age 33, Eagan, MN and formerly Bejou, MN joined her heavenly father on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Her brief yet courageous battle with cancer ended while she was once again able to be out in the country at "The Lodge" hospice care in Elko, MN.

Born on June 27, 1976 in Mahnomen, MN, the daughter of Franklyn and Mary Nell Preisler, Rebecca grew up on their family farm near Bejou, MN with her three brothers, one sister, and many cousins nearby. She graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1995 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota- Crookston. Rebecca was very involved in 4-H, speech, and synchronized swimming and then sang in the U of MN, Crookston choir. Rebecca completed her internship with Unisys in Eagan, MN and continued to be a valuable member of their corporation as she was described as tenacious & reliable and received numerous awards.

Family, friends, and faith in God were Rebecca's loves throughout her energetic and caring life. Her involvement in church activities and sharing of God's word are evident in the many study groups, teaching Sunday School to three and four year olds, and outreach she led and participated in at Evergreen Community Church. Putting the needs and cares of others first, Rebecca would always be the first to reach out, share a smile, give a hug, and ask: "How are you doing and how can I help?" Her bubbly sense of humor and joy in living made anything and everything so much more fun. She looked forward to the fall each year as she worked at the Renaissance Festival and got to share her vivacious personality. Rebecca was a beloved aunt to her three nephews and made many trips to their sporting events, celebrations, and even just to visit.

Rebecca is survived by her parents, Franklyn and Mary Nell Preisler of Bejou, MN, brothers David (Teri) Preisler of LeCenter, MN, Daniel (Karin) Preisler of Weyauwega, WI, Steven (Kalie) Preisler of Albuquerque, NM, sister Karen Preisler of Fargo, ND, three nephews: Ethan, Cody, and Gabriel Preisler; uncles and aunts: Jim and Darlene Halvorson, Lois Kuhn, Gene and Dianne Hegge; and cousins: Jonathan (Jen) Halvorson, Erin (Joe) Visker, Sherrie Brown, Robin (Lyndon) Bendickson, Teresa Kulzer, Myron Sorgaard, Julie (Corey) Meinert. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents: Frank and Pearl Preisler, Bernice and Palmer Halvorson, and aunt Eunice Sorgaard.

Memorial services to celebrate Rebecca's life will be held at 3:30 pm on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Evergreen Community Church, 2300 E. 88th Street, Bloomington, Minnesota 55425 and also on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bejou, Minnesota.
