Obituary

Raymond C. Klockmann, 93, of Ada, Minnesota, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Bridges Care Community, Ada, Minnesota.

Raymond was born on February 7, 1916, in Marshall County, Minnesota, the son of Charles and Caroline (Otto) Klockmann. Raymond was raised and educated in Winthrop, MN, and farmed with his father until he served in the United States Army from 1941 to 1946. He was a member of the 10th Mountain Division and saw action in Kiska, Alaska and the Po River Valley, Italy. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Raymond married Ann Riedel in Denver, Colorado on March 20, 1943. They farmed near Gary, MN, until 1966, and then Raymond worked for Norman County Implement in Ada until his retirement in 1981. Raymond was a life member of the Ada VFW Post 7557 and Gary American Legion Post 505. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was always ready to teach his grandchildren to fish.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ann, of Ada, MN, daughters Dorothy (William) Tilton, Andover, MN, Shirley (Dellis) Lange, Five Points, Alabama, Kathleen (Glen) Brandt, Ada, MN, Marjorie Klockmann (Ken Helland), Fargo, ND, and son Richard (Peggy) Klockmann, Grand Forks, ND. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twin sisters, two sisters, Eleanor Haase and Corrine Shelton, and one brother Melvin Klockmann.

Funeral Service: 2:30 PM, Monday, January 25, 2010, at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural, Ada, MN.

Visitation: Sunday from 5:00-7:00PM at Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada with a 7PM prayer service.

Burial: St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural, Ada, MN.
