Raymond James "Jesse" Foster, age 78, of Detroit Lakes, MN, formerly Ponsford, MN, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, MN.

Jesse was born on February 2, 1942 to Margaret "Muggins" (Foster) Janke at White Earth Hospital in White Earth, MN. Jesse lived with his partner, Elizabeth Swenson, for five plus years and was a stepfather to two children, Jazmine and Jason. Jesse worked at various job throughout his life. He was employed by the Ottertail Power Company in Fergus Fall, MN, and later he worked at Pine Manor Treatment Center. His work at the treatment center was especially meaningful to him as he had struggled with alcohol addiction but had been clean and sober for several years. He genuinely interacted with the clients and was an encouragement to many.

Some activities Jesse enjoyed was eating homemade food, watching and playing with his great nieces and nephews and living with Mark and Jamie during the three years prior to entering Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.

Jesse is survived by his sibling: Delores (David) Rousou, Donna (Ken) Niemi, Wayne (Katie) Janke, and Michael (Misty) Janke; nieces and nephews: Ruth (Bill) Newton, Joe, Gary (Cindy), Mark (Jamie), Elaine (David) Keezer, and many other nieces and nephews to numerous to name. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret "Muggins" Janke; grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth Foster; siblings: Rose Marie Fairbanks, Charles "Joe" Foster, Diane Arnold, and Rossetta (Jim) Sauk; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in White Earth. A Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place in Chief Cornerstone Cemetery, White Earth, MN.

Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, social distancing will be practiced, and all must wear a mask to attend.
