Obituary

Randy Hagen, age 50, of Naytahwaush, MN, died Friday, May 29, 2015, at his home, under the loving care of Joylene and his family.

Randy Allen Hagen, the son of Harland Hagen and Leah Londo, was born September 30, 1964, in Ada, MN. He spent his early childhood in Fargo, ND, then moved with this family to Naytahwaush at the age of six. He attended school in both Naytahwaush and Mahnomen, MN. Randy later studied carpentry at Detroit Lakes Vocational School. He was a gifted mechanic and handyman. Randy was often found helping others repair cars and lawnmowers as well as tinkering on household items. He could fix anything. Randy was in a long term relationship with Carrie Kier and to this couple three children were born: Brandi, Randy Jr, and Dusty. He was later united in marriage to Joylene Kirsch and they were blessed with two more children, Dylan and Brittany. Over the years, Randy worked various jobs but he was very proud of his position as foreman at Boise Cascade in International Falls, MN. He most recently worked at the Shooting Star Casino until his health prevented him from doing so. Randy loved spending time with his family and socializing with friends. He was always teasing and joking around with those around him, his special sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Randy is survived by his mother, Leah Hagen of Naytahwaush; his children: Brandi (Fredrick Jackson), Randy Jr., Dusty, Dylan, and Brittany, all of Waubun; his sister, Laurie Hagen of Waubun; six beautiful grandchildren: Harland, Jaydah, Randy III, Glen, Gregory, and Malachi; two nieces, Shanda Hagen and Candace Rae Watson; his step-grandmother, Opal Londo of Hendrum, MN; and the mothers of his children, Carrie Kier and Joy Hagen, both of Waubun; in addition to many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, and several extended family members.

The family of Randy wishes to express their deepest appreciation for everyone who helped, sent prayers, and kept Randy company throughout his illness and the time of his passing.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Kier Family Cemetery, rural Waubun, with messages provided by Rev Tim Brown, Rev Mike Brown, and Fr. John Cox. Serving as urn bearers will be Randy's sons: Randy Jr., Dusty, and Dylan. All are invited to a feast following the service.
