Obituary

Ramiro Alvarado Jr., age 74, of Naytahwaush, MN, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Vibra Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Ramiro Alvarado Jr. was born on May 1, 1947, in White Earth, MN, to Ramiro Sr. and Elizabeth (Wadena) Alvarado. Ramiro played football and basketball during high school in East Grand Forks, MN. Ramiro married the mother of his children, Wanda (Folstrom) Alvarado, on March 19, 1966. They later divorced in the early 80's but remained friends throughout the years. After obtaining his GED, he attended Northwest Technical College in East Grand Forks for Autobody Mechanics. He then began his lifelong career as an over-the-road trucker, hauling grain, gravel and auto parts over the years. He was able to travel all over the United States. Ramiro retired in 2009 due to health reasons.

Ramiro's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlight of his life and spent any time he could with them. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting deer and fishing. In his spare time, he tinkered with cars and rode motorcycle. He was a member of a derby racing team in the 80's, driving #4. Ramiro was also an avid Viking's fan.

Ramiro is survived by his daughters, Gina Alvarado and Lori Alvarado; son, Jesse Alvarado; 13 grandchildren: Winston Jr., Tiffany, Andrea, Nicholas, Curtis, Joshua, Luke, Jesse Lynn, Zach, Amber, Justice, Jesse Jr., and Jordan; 14 great-grandchildren: Carissa, David, Vivian, Andre, Daniel, Natalie, Elicia, Aubriella, Kingston, Zavian, Michelle, Adrian, Eli, and Alaya; and siblings, Gloria Martinez, Harold Alvarado, Richard Alvarado, Celestina Derosier, Sheila Suarez, Lorenza Alvarado.

Ramiro was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; sisters, Shirley, Juanita, and Ginny; and brother, Martin.

Traditional Services will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Naytahwaush and will continue until the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 31, 2021 at St. Anne's.

Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, and CDC guidelines, social distancing will be practiced. Masks are strongly encouraged.
