Obituary

Ralph "Buzz" Truman III, age 65 of Ulen, MN died Thursday, February 7, 2013 in the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview in Minneapolis, MN.

Ralph Edgecombe Truman III was born August 8, 1947 the son of Ralph and Sybil (Hughes) Truman II in Bismarck, ND. As a child he moved with his family to Fargo where he attended Fargo Central High School, graduating with the class of 1965. Upon his graduation, Buzz was employed with Rusco Windows and later worked with Fargo Paint & Glass. On April 7, 1973 Buzz was united in marriage to Jean Moen in Ulen. The couple made their home in Fargo where Buzz was employed by Treasure Island, for nearly 20 years, working in coin collecting. Over the years, Buzz also owned his own shop of collectables while living in Fargo. In 1996, Buzz and Jean moved to Ulen to make their home. He operated a secondhand shop, "Curio Shop" in Ulen for three years.

Buzz's favorite pastimes included metal detecting, coin and stamp collecting and when he was younger, Buzz loved to play softball. He had a great sense of humor and known as quite a jokester. Buzz liked spending time looking at old cars and over the years had a few of his own to work on. He enjoyed nature while watching and feeding the birds in his yard. He even named one Lucy, who will surely miss the treats he gave her. Buzz loved being with his family and truly treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Buzz is survived by his wife of almost 39 years, Jean of Ulen; a daughter, Lana (Cory) Schatschneider of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Grant and Ian Schatschneider; mother, Sybil Truman-Witt of Hawley, MN; sisters: Kay (Leon) Lasha of Colorado Springs, CO, Sandra (Richard) Shelhammer of Canon City, CO and Janis (Poncho) McDougall of Detroit Lakes, MN and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and two infant children.
