Phyllis Jensen, age 65, of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, North Dakota.

Phyllis Ann Olson was born December 18, 1944, the daughter of William and Virgina (Marsh) Olson in Fargo, North Dakota. She grew up there, attending school at Fargo High School where she graduated with the class of 1962. On October 27, 1962, Phyllis was united in marriage to Gary Jensen in Moorhead, Minnesota. Phyllis and Gary were blessed with a son, Tim, then nine months later, had twins, Debra and Daniel. The family lived in Idaho for a short time before moving to Cleburne, Texas, for three years while Gary owned and operated an auto repair shop. They then moved to Blaine, Minnesota, for a few years before coming to a farm near Twin Valley in 1974, where Phyllis and Gary lived the rest of their lives together. In the early 1990's, Phyllis proudly received her nursing degree. After Gary's death in April of 2004, Phyllis continued to live on the farm until moving to Twin Valley to make her home two years ago. Phyllis was employed at the Twin Valley Retirement Center, which recently became the Lincoln Terrance Assisted Living Center, as an LPN for the past 35 years, where she was still employed part-time.

Phyllis was an avid Twins baseball fan, never missing a game on television as well as enjoying a live game this summer with Deb. In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but most of all she treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her companion dog, Buddy. She also enjoyed the time she spent at weekly card games with her friends.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Debra (Tom) Knapper of Dilworth, MN; son, Daniel Jensen of Nampa, ID; grandchildren, Charles Jensen of Dilworth, MN, Christopher Jensen of West Fargo, ND, Jessica Knapper of Moorhead, MN and David Knapper of Dilworth, MN; great-grandchildren, Kaden and Ethan; a daughter-in-law, Betty Jensen of Glyndon, MN and a sister-in-law, Lynn Carlson of Pelican Rapids, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Timothy and brother, Thomas.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 25, 2010, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 26 at 1:00 PM at the Lincoln Terrace Chapel, Twin Valley. Officiating will be Marilou Bade, Chaplain with Monica Winter providing special music. Pallbearers will be Dwight Fuglie, Dennis Bueng, John Wickern, Mark Knapper and Jeff Jensen. Honorary pallbearers will be her co-workers and the residents at the Lincoln Terrace.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, Minnesota.
