Petra M. Roquet, 93, of Dilworth, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Lilac Homes Assisted Living in Dilworth, Minnesota.

Petra Marie Roquet was born January 2, 1933, near Hendrum, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Peder and Lucy Jacobson. The family lived on two farms, the large acreage as a child and then into a smaller section as she grew up where she helped with the sheep, garden, and other chores around the farm. Her family attended the First Methodist Church in Ada. She attended Ada schools and graduated in 1950 from Ada High School.

On October 3, 1950, Petra married Merlin Roquet at the First Methodist Church in Ada. They began their married life together in a small place next to her parents' farm. They moved to Moorhead where she worked for an insurance agency then onto WDAY shortly after. Petra was an integral part of the workforce there as she did the bookkeeping for them for 40 years.  During this time, she was very involved with her church and community. She enjoyed politics and worked on several campaigns. She always wanted to learn and continued studies at the colleges in Moorhead by sitting in to the classes. She also worked as a CNA at Bethany Nursing Home. Her life was family, community and compassion with a bit of sass.

She is survived by her children, LuAnn Borders, St Cloud, MN, Steven (Shari) Roquet, Fargo, ND, and Jana (Bill) Larson, Halstad, MN; grandchildren, Joshua (Kathy) Borders, Cold Spring, MN, Andrew (Alexandra) Borders, St. Cloud, MN, Amber Roquet (Dan Castronuovo), Fargo, ND, Travis Roquet, Fergus Falls, MN, Tyler Roquet, Fargo, ND, Brittany (Joe Henry) Roquet, Lithia, FL, Coltan Roquet, Fargo, ND, Paige Roquet, Fargo, ND, Cory (Katie) Larson, Fargo, ND, Amanda (Cirro) Larson, Fargo, ND, and Blair (Aaron) Delagarza, Fargo, ND; great grandchildren, Cecilia, Connor, and Charlotte Borders, Benjamin, Kaden, James, Jonathan, Onyx Roquet, and Sienna Henry, Elizabeth Castronuovo, Colton Larson, and Isaac, Haley, Mason, Madison and Kaden Delagarza; brother-in-law, Earl Roquet; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Roquet, and Evelyn Roquet; and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nephews and nieces.

Petra was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Lucy Jacobson; husband, Merlin Roquet; infant daughter, Robyn Roquet; sibling, Gerald Jacobson; and grandson, Donovan Larson.

The family would like to thank all those that have been there for her, her many friends, neighbors, and community members. A special thank you to Serenity Assisted Living and Lilac Homes Assisted Living for their care and support.

A Celebration of Life open house will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.
