On Saturday evening, March 11, 2023, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND, Peter David Stock, 66, of Mahnomen, MN, completed his prolonged battle against pancreatic cancer. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Peter was born on a hot, windy, summer day in Fergus Falls, MN on August 22, 1956—the first child of Jack and Doris Stock. He attended Mahnomen School until 1975.

On April 15, 1975, Peter was married to the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Patricia Swiers; and spent the next 48 years with her. Together they had 4 children and 2 grandchildren.

Peter farmed land with his father and brothers in Mahnomen County for most of his life. He also owned A1 Septic Services with his wife for nearly 25 years.

Peter loved the outdoors and exploring God's creation. He enjoyed gardening, winter and summer camping, fishing, hiking (especially in Arizona), and boating. He loved animals, including raising pigs and chickens, and training horses. But most of all, Peter's favorite past time was spending time eating a good meal and discussing life and the future with his family and friends. He particularly loved being "Grandpa Pete" to Myra and Jackson.

In June 1983 the truths Peter found in the Bible changed the course of his life forever. On December 10 of that year, Peter achieved what he called his "most important" accomplishment—he dedicated his life in service to Jehovah God and His son Jesus Christ, and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.  Peter expressed his hope to live on a paradise earth under God's Kingdom to nearly everyone he encountered. He also had the privilege of serving as a Ministerial Servant and Regular Pioneer in the Detroit Lakes congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Peter is dearly missed by his wife Patricia, his children Judy (Michael) D'Anza, Michael (Sarah) Stock, Ernest (Marnie) Stock, and Jacklyn (Charles) Ruel, his siblings Kevin (Nancy) Stock, Sandra (Scott) Henry, Mark Stock, David Stock, and sister-in-law Paula Stock, grandchildren Myra and Jackson Stock, his uncle James (Joyce) Stock, his aunt Janet Dewey, numerous nephews and nieces, and other family and friends.

Peter is preceded in death by his parents John (Jack) and Doris, and his brother, Daniel.

Peter's family wishes to thank Sanford Medical Center—particularly the 7th-floor medical staff; Dr. Daniel Almquist and the Roger Maris Cancer Center; Renae L. Miller, PA; and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their tireless support. The Stock family also appreciates the assistance from Anderson Family Funeral Home during this difficult time.
