Perry Dahlen, age 49, of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Tuesday, April 07, 2009, in his home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Perry D. Dahlen was born July 26, 1959, the son of Herbert and Karol (Holznagel) Dahlen in Ada, Minnesota. Perry grew up in Ada and attended elementary school there before moving with his family to a farm near Faith, Minnesota. He then attended and later graduated from Mahnomen High School with the class of 1977. After graduation, Perry attended Northland Technical College in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, where he studied to be a mechanic and welder. Perry was employed for a time at Fargo Fencing and later at Fargo Tank Company. He moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and worked in the roofing business for several years. After his brother's death in 1988, Perry returned to the Faith community where he helped his father in the farming operation. He later moved to Mounds View, Minnesota, and worked as a roofing foreman. In January of 2009, Perry retired due to his health. He recently moved to Twin Valley to be closer to his family.
While living in the Twin Cities, Perry was a past president of the Jaycees. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and riding motorcycle. He also had a genuine love for nature and all animals.
Perry is survived by his father, Herbert Dahlen of Fertile, MN and a brother, Coe Dahlen of Twin Valley, MN. He is preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Mike.
Funeral Services was held on Friday, April 10 at 2:00PM in Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley.
Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley.
