Obituary

Pearl Wiger, age 83, of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Friday, November 23, 2007, in Mahnomen Health Care Center.

Pearl Alta Borgen was born November 11, 1924, the daughter of Henry and Agnes (Bakken) Borgen in Ada, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm west of Gary, Minnesota. Pearl attended school in Gary, graduating with the class of 1942. She was employed by various households in the area as well as the Ada Dry Cleaners and the Ada Hotel in the 1940s. On February 10, 1948, Pearl was united in marriage to Harvey Wiger at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage in Twin Valley. The couple farmed in Wild rice Township until their retirement and continued to live there until November, 2004. At that time they moved into Twin Valley, residing at the Valley Pines Apartments.

In her younger years, Pearl was active in church and volunteer work. Having company and being around people was very important to her. Pearl truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey, Twin Valley, MN, one son, Brent (Jeanette) Pine River, MN; two grandchildren, Neil, Twin Valley, MN, Erica (Jared) Johnson of Aneta, ND; five great grandchildren and a brother, Alvi (Trudy), Moorhead, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 27th at 2:00 PM in Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. Officiating will be Pastor Charles Bade with Monica Winter serving as organist and Sara Mickelson serving as vocalist. Pallbearers will be John Brainard, Mike Gillis, Tom Habeck, Lyle Berg, Clyde Winter and Al Heirraas.

Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley.
