Pauline Ask, age 87, of Moorhead, Minnesota formerly Ada, Minnesota, died Saturday, October 28, 2006, in the Eventide Nursing Center, Moorhead, Minnesota.
Pauline Esther Turner was born April 7, 1919, near Twin Valley, Minnesota, the daughter of Floyd and Mabel (Dullum) Turner. She was baptized and confirmed in her Lutheran faith at the Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley. Pauline attended grade school in the Heiberg Country School near Twin Valley and later attended and graduated with the class of 1936 from the Twin Valley High School. As a young lady, she worked in the drug store in Twin Valley. On April 20, 1941, Pauline was united in marriage to Clifford Ask in the Zion Lutheran Church. They made their home in Twin Valley where they operated the Ask Dairy for several years. In the mid 1950's, Pauline began working at the Twin Valley Telephone Company where she was the receptionist for many years. In the late 1960's Pauline moved to Ada, Minnesota, where she was employed at the Production Credit Association for over 15 years. After her retirement, she started her sewing business known as "Stitches by Pauline" where she personalized sweaters, sweat shirts and Tee shirts and sold them out of her home and at craft shows throughout the area. In the mid 1990's she moved to Fargo, North Dakota, and in 2004 she moved into Eventide Home where she has resided since.
Pauline will long be remembered for her cooking and her love of sewing. She also enjoyed traveling whenever she had the opportunity.
Pauline was the past president of the Zion Ladies Aide, also past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary Post 7557 both in Ada. She served as treasure of the District VFW for 16 years.
Pauline is survived by three sons, Thomas (Anita) of Cumming, GA, Curtis (Sheryl) of Kent, MN and David (Kim) of Somerset, WI: one sister Lois Greterman of Sun City West, AZ; five grandchildren, Jason (Fran) Ask, Andrea (Jay) Thimjon, Karin (Bruce) Lane, Mike Ask, Nick Ask; six great grandchildren, Katelyn and Emily Ask, Kobe and Riley Thimjon, and Sydney and Taylor Lane; one niece, Sue (Aubrey) Hall of Aurora, CO and one nephew, Dale (Mary) Greterman of Fargo, ND.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 2, at 2:00 PM in the Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley, MN. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Pastor Charlie Bade will officiate with Danette Gwin serving as organist. The vocalist will be
