Paulette Gunnerson, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026 at Eventide Care Center in Moorhead, MN, where she had been a resident for the past 5 years. Paulette was born Paulette Motteberg on February 5, 1939 in rural Gary, MN to parents Olai and Agnes Motteberg, and graduated from Gary High School.

Paulette married Arnold Gunnerson and raised four children in Ada, MN. Arnold passed away in 2011.

Paulette worked at the Ada Bakery and for many years at the Ada Municipal Hospital and Care Center. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, painting, drawing, and was also an excellent seamstress. In retirement she also enjoyed shopping antique stores and garage sales. She grew up speaking Norwegian and was proud of her heritage, crafting Hardanger needlepoint pieces, baking Norwegian goods, and traveling to Norway in 2011.

Paulette will be remembered as a very kind, generous woman who cared deeply for her family and was always looking to help others. She had a strong religious faith and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ada for many years.

Paulette is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; son, Timothy; her parents; and 3 siblings. She is survived by children, James (Becky) Gunnerson of Prior Lake, MN, Bonnie (Dave) Foss of Coppell, TX, and Cindy Gunnerson of Moorhead, MN; nine grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Paulette Gunnerson will be held in June at a place and time to be determined.
