Obituary

Paul Scholl, 50, of Laporte, MN, died Saturday, November 8, 2014, in a tragic hunting accident.

Paul Ernst Scholl was born June 16, 1964, in Minneapolis, MN, to Leo Herman and Jeannette Julia (Hanson) Scholl. He grew up in the metro and graduated from Irondale High School. He furthered his education at St. Paul Tech School, where he received his degree as a journeyman in sheet metal. On October 7, 1989, Paul was united in marriage to Rita Beth Aanerud at Lake Grove Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Minneapolis for 5 years before moving to Freeburg, IL. After 10 years, they moved to Laporte, where they currently live. In 2001, Paul received his certificate for Massage Therapy through Southwestern Illinois College. Together with Rita, they own and operate Living Touch Massage in Bemidji.

A true outdoor enthusiast, Paul loved hunting, fishing and being one with nature. He enjoyed mowing, raking and yard work in general. He kept busy working with his hands both in construction for 22 years and with massage since 2001. Paul was a man of few words but a man with great integrity, a pursuit for excellence and abundant love for his family. In addition to being kind hearted, smart, and compassionate, he was also genuinely giving, a wonderful provider and loyal husband, father, brother and friend. Paul's family was first and foremost to him, followed by his strong faith.

Just recently, Paul and Rita were able to celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary with an awesome trip to Spain. As a devoted Christian, Paul was very active with his church and served in many leadership roles. His strong faith was evident in his day to day activities. He also enjoyed driving bus and cooking. Paul will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Paul is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rita, Laporte; children, Bethany and Craig, both of Bemidji; two sisters, Debbie (Randy) Buranen, Aurora, MN, and Beverly Danielson, Spring Lake Park, MN; two brothers, Richard "Dick" (Sandy) Scholl, Missoula, MT, and Kevin Scholl, West Yellowstone, MT; in-laws, Ronald and Betty Aanerud, Waubun, MN; sister-in-law, Ronda (Clint Sr.) Olson, Ogema, MN; brother-in-law, Rick (Laura) Aanerud, Montevideo, MN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant stillborns.

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God
Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long suffering with joyfulness

Colossians 1: 9-11
