Paul Alan Hegreberg, 65 of Halstad, MN, died December 9, 2018, under the care of Hospice at the Comstock Corner Nursing Home in Hillsboro, ND, after a 12 year battle with colon cancer.

Paul Alan Hegreberg was born July 30, 1953 in St. Paul, MN to Lulu Baker. At 5 months old he was adopted by Wilhelm and Helen Hegreberg of Anthony Township, Ada, MN. He was baptized and later confirmed at East Marsh River Lutheran Church, in rural Halstad. He attended school and graduated from Halstad School with the class of 1971.

On June 24, 1972, Paul was united in marriage to Nancy Crane at the Gary Lutheran Church, in Gary, MN. They lived in Anthony Township, rural Halstad. They farmed together and Paul also had semis and hauled grain. Together they raised 5 children. Later on Paul worked for several farmers and an elevator. He started working for Albert (Bobby) Olson and continued working for his son Rodney Olson up until his health was failing too much to work in Nov. 2017. He retired in Dec. 2017.

Paul's passion has always been farming and trucking. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping at the lakes, tinkering around with his son's with some farming and animals. Loved the time he had with his grandkids, with either sleepovers or time at the lakes.

Paul is survived by his wife Nancy (Crane) Hegreberg, 5 children, Kristi Martinson (Martin Perez) of Twin Valley, MN, Kari (Kim Scott) Burley of Halstad, MN, Kasey (Crystal) Hegreberg of Twin Valley, MN, Kelli Johnson of Climax, MN and Kodey Hegreberg of Perley, MN, 16 Grandkids, MaKayla Martinson, Austin Martinson, Paul Joseph (PJ) Perez, Shiloh Perez, Kelsey Shoemaker, Kevin Dunn, Ethan Dunn, Colton Dunn, Shelby Hegreberg, Mollie Hegreberg, Griffin Johnson, Brylee Johnson, Easton Johnson, Izabel Hegreberg, Jaxon Hegreberg, and Connor Hegreberg. His sister Judy (Joe) Erm of Minnetonka, MN, brother Jim (Linda) Koelsch or Oronoco, MN. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his birth mother Lula (Baker) Koelsch, step dad Charlie Koelsch, his adoptive parents, Wilhelm and Helen Hegreberg, his brother Jerald Koelsch, and niece, Pamala Koelsch.

Funeral: 2:00PM Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Halstad Lutheran Church, Halstad, MN.

Visitation: Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 5:00PM-7:00PM with a 7:00Pm prayer service at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Halstad, MN.

Burial: East Marsh River Lutheran Cemetery, rural Halstad, MN.
