Paul Conrad Gredvig, 97, Fertile, MN, passed away Saturday March 21, 2020, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.

Paul was born on July 18, 1922, to Gerhard and Clara (Morvig) Gredvig in Fertile. He was as baptized and confirmed in his Christian faith at Concordia Lutheran Church. He graduated from Fertile High School in 1940. Paul served from 1945-1946 in the Army Transport/Merchant Marines. He lived and farmed on the family farm for most of his life. He also served the area selling Farm Bureau Insurance for over 35 years.

Paul married the love of his life, Lorraine Madson on November 3, 1951, in Mizpah, MN. Together they raised four children; Carol, Nancy, Gloria and Ronald.

Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing, and spending time with his family and friends. He traveled with his wife to many states across the US as well as Australia, New Zealand, and Norway. He was an active member at Concordia Lutheran Church, singing in the choir, serving on the church council, and on the Concordia Lutheran Church Cemetery Board. In the community, he was involved with the Fertile Lions Club, Agassiz Environmental Learning Center, Fertile 4-H Club, East Polk Farm Bureau, Odin Male Chorus, Ski Devil Ski Area, the Veterans Memorial Committee, and American Legion Post #238.

Paul will be greatly missed by his wife of 68 years, Lorraine Gredvig, Fertile, MN; children, Carol Osmondson, Fertile, MN; Nancy (Danny) Grunhovd, Gary, MN and Ronald (Vian) Gredvig, Minnetonka, MN; son-in-law, Ronald Mitchell, Denver, CO; grandchildren, Alan (Brenda) Grunhovd, Brian (April) Grunhovd, Bradley (Kaydi) Grunhovd, Kari (Derek) Patnode, Keith (Leah) Mitchell, Nicholas (Kimberly) Mitchell, Andrea Gredvig, and Jacob Gredvig; great-grandchildren, Ava, Sofie, Bennett, Kendall, Milo, Rogan, Ezra, and Malcolm; brother, Arthur Gredvig, Fertile, MN; sister-in-law, Marge Gredvig, San Diego, CA; brother-in-law, Richard Mitchell, Wickenburg, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Gloria Mitchell; son-in-law, Roger Osmondson; siblings, Alida (Cyrus) Sannes, Hilma (Arthur) Rongen, Olava (Olaf) Christian, Ida (Arnold) Erickson, Mildred (Philip) Kilpatrick, Arnold (Esther) Gredvig, George (Clara) Gredvig, Mable (Ralph) Sather, Henry (Mernie) Gredvig, and Walter Gredvig; sister-in-law, Gelaine Gredvig; and several nieces and nephews.

Due to public health concerns with the coronavirus called COVID-19, private family services will be held at Erikson-Vik-Ganje Funeral Home, Fertile, Minnesota.

Burial : Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Fertile, MN.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
