Watch Pat's Funeral Mass

We mournfully announce the death of Patricia J. Liebl, age 80, of Fargo, ND, who died peacefully Friday, January 29, 2021 at her home with family.

Patricia was born to Wilfred and Camilla (Belshan) Liebl on March 19, 1940 in Mahnomen, MN. She was baptized in April of 1940, and confirmed on May 4, 1947, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen. Patricia attended school in Mahnomen and graduated from Mahnomen High School with the class of 1958.

Her life was full and vibrant with many interests. Amongst the favorites were family celebrations, the family Bemidji Drive-In Theatre, the Auntie Pat Camp for nieces and nephews filled with games, juke box music and dancing, shopping and making the meal preparations and serving a fun and learning adventure. Family meant more to Pat than words can describe. She was a strong 160 average bowling teammate, and a member of the women's Nodak AA Fastpitch softball team.

After retiring in 1992 from a professional career of 34 years at Pioneer Mutual Life Insurance Company as a cashier and supervisor of special services in the policy department, Pat devoted her time volunteering and enjoying gardening, traveling, baking and trying new recipes. During her 27 years of volunteering at the Dakota Boys Ranch, she was the recipient of numerous Volunteer of the Year awards.

Pat is survived by two brothers, Ronald (Bonnie) Liebl and David Liebl, both of Moorhead, MN; brother-in-law, Paul Christenson of Fargo; sister-in-law, Dianne Liebl of Mahnomen; six nieces and nephews: Kimberly, Karen, Gregory, Jennifer, Douglas and Martty; and several great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Camilla; sister, Corrine Christenson and brother, Michael.

A Public Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Mahnomen, MN.  Visitation will be held one-hour prior at the church.  Interment will be at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Mahnomen, MN.

Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, social distancing will be practiced, and all must wear a mask to participate.  The funeral service will be recorded and available for viewing shortly after the funeral.
