Pastor Lori Jo Hoyum, 57, formerly of Fertile, MN, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at her home on Bainbridge Island, WA.

She was born on February 13, 1959, in Crookston, MN, the daughter of Erman and Betty (Haugen) Ueland. She was raised in Fertile, MN, where she graduated from Fertile-Beltrami High School.

She received a B.A. from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) and a Masters of Divinty from Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary (Saint Paul, MN). Lori was united in marriage to Ron Hoyum on November 17, 1990, at Luther Seminary. She also served parishes in Kasson, MN and Gig Harbor, WA prior to being called to Port Madison Lutheran in 1995 –– a position she held until her death.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Ronald A. Hoyum, her son, John Hoyum, her daughter, Gretchen Hoyum, her step-daughter, Erica Huber, her parents, Erman and Betty Ueland, Fertile, MN, her sister and brother-in-law, Kim & Harry Kveno, and their children; Seth (Kristin) Kveno, Sara (Andy) Klein, Samantha (Eric) Stock, and Sean (Emily) Kveno, her brother and sister-in-law, Jon & Kathy Ueland, and their children; Rebekah, Rachel, and Andrea, 11 great nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral: 11:00AM Friday, November 11, 2016, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fertile, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.

Burial: Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Fertile, MN.
