Orpha Mathile Borslien, 84, of Fertile, MN, died on Tuesday, October 01, 2013, at the Riverview Health Care Center, Crookston, MN. She was born on November 3, 1928, in Godfrey Township, rural Fertile, to Bernhard and Clara (Dale) Borslien. She was baptized and confirmed at First Evanger Lutheran Church, Fertile. Orpha attended Pleasant View Rural School #86, near her home.

Orpha spent her entire life on the family farm. This allowed her to develop a close relationship with her mother and they enjoyed sewing together making clothes and quilts. After her parents deaths, Orpha and her brother, Erwin, continued to live and work on the family farm, raising dairy cattle and farmed small grains. She also loved spending time with her beloved cats. Orpha also worked seasonally for Lee's Nursery of rural Fertile for many years. She was a hard worker and got by with the essentials in life. She was a life time member of First Evanger Lutheran Church, Fertile where she enjoyed being a member of the ladies aid.  In November of 2011, she became a resident of Riverview Health Care Center, Crookston, MN.

Orpha is survived by two sisters-in-law: Elva Borslien, Fertile, and Emma Borslien, Crookston, MN; and six nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Nelfred, Gilmore, and Erwin; and one sister, Adella Christianson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4 , 2013, at 11 am in the First Evanger Lutheran Church, Fertile, MN.

Visitation will be one hour before the services at the First Evanger Lutheran Church, Fertile, MN.

Burial will be in the First Evanger Lutheran Cemetery, Fertile, MN.
