Orlando M. Sannes, better known as "Punky," age 80, passed away on December 29, 2024, at Fair Meadow Nursing Home, where he had lived for the past three years. He was born the only son of Harry and Alma (Werpy) Sannes in Gary, MN, on September 9, 1944.

During his life, he worked a variety of jobs in construction and heavy equipment in both Minnesota and Washington State, but his passion was always classic country music. He loved the 'greats'—Hank Williams, Cal Smith, Conway Twitty, and many others—and played and sang their music with his trusty guitar, which he named 'Herkamer.'

Punky is survived by one nephew, Daren; two great-nieces, Tana and Nichole; and one great-nephew, Nic, all in Washington State, as well as numerous cousins in Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his three sisters, Arla, Virginia, and LaVonne; his niece, Darla; his great-niece, Tera; and his lifelong love, Laura.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, at 2:00pm, with a time of gathering beginning 1 hour before, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley, MN. Inurnment will be held at Gary Lutheran Cemetery in Gary, MN.
