Olive Axdahl, age 82, Frazee, MN died July 26, 2013, at Prestonwood Rehabilitation Center, Plano, TX where she was admitted on May 21st after being hospitalized while visiting her daughter.
Olive "Ollie" was born July 6, 1931 to Oscar and Rocelia (Lien) Stene in Flom Township, Norman County, MN. She was baptized and confirmed her faith at Wild Rice Lutheran Church, rural Twin Valley. She received her elementary education at country school and graduated from Twin Valley High School. After high school, Ollie worked for a time at Salverson's in Ada, MN. Ollie was united in marriage to Donald Axdahl on June 12th, 1955 at Wild Rice Lutheran Church. They moved to Frazee where Donald worked for Daggett Truck Line. Ollie was a wonderful homemaker and also worked for Pamida in Detroit Lakes, MN for 18 years. After their retirement, they enjoyed traveling to see their children and tending to their flowers and garden. Following, Donald's death in 2010, Ollie has continued to make her home in Frazee.
Ollie is survived by her four children: Darwin (Debbie) Axdahl of Frazee, Orwin (Sandy) Axdahl of Box Elder, SD., Glenda (John ) McMichael of Plano, TX, and Ross Axdahl of Frazee, MN; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a brother, Harvey (Corrine) Stene of Fertile, MN.
Proceeding her in death was her husband, Donald Axdahl; her parents, Oscar and Rocelia Stene; her sister, Ardis Mahlum; and daughter-in-law, Linda Axdahl.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, August 3rd, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Wild Rice Lutheran Church, rural Twin Valley. Visitation was Friday, August 2nd from 5-7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley. Visitation was also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Officiating was Pastor Al Brooks with Jolee Habedank serving as organist and Karen Bergstrom and Mark Habedank serving as vocalists. Pallbearers were Darwin Axdahl, Orwin Axdahl, Ross Axdahl, Harvey Stene, John McMichael and Bruce Berg.
Burial was in Wild Rice Lutheran Cemetery, rural Twin Valley.
