Olga Hazel Stundahl, beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away February 1, 2020, at the age of 101.

Olga was born September 15, 1918, the daughter of Iver and Minnie (Thompson) Tastad. She grew up on a farm near Faith, MN, and attended Marsh Creek Country School and Mahnomen High School before returning home to help on the farm. She was courted by Mervin Stundahl who, after several attempts, finally convinced her he was a worthy candidate. They married on November 9, 1941, in Gary, MN. They made their home on a farm near Flom, MN, for nine years, and then bought a farm near Twin Valley, MN. They raised two children, a daughter, Faye, and a son, Wayne. Along with being a farmer's wife and a full-time mother, Olga worked as a professional painter for many years with her partner Lorraine Bakke, and the pair was often referred to as the "Jolly Painters." She was an active member of Wild Rice Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley throughout her life, quilting with the group at Zion well into her 90's.

Olga lived on the farm independently until just before her death, planting a yearly garden, doing yard work, taking care of the home, and keeping fresh coffee and treats available for anyone who wanted to stop by and visit. She was an extraordinary cook whose donuts, lefse and other creations were known far and wide. Olga was a strong woman who never let her age or physical limitations define what she was capable of doing. She lived her life with dignity, grace and a dedication to family and faith that inspired everyone who was part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Faye, in 1993 and her husband, Mervin, in 2001, as well as her sisters: Ida Jones, Marie Davis, Judith Tastad, Inez Johnson, Della Garret, and her brothers: Einar, Joyce, and David. She is survived by her son, Wayne (Carolyn); her grandchildren Debbie (Mark) Berby, Steve (Lonna) Hlubek, Tara (Clinton) Larson, Shannon (Ryan) Gullingsrud, Lindsey (Eric) Devine; and her great-grandchildren: Tanner and Tyler Berby, Gavin, Seth and Leah Hlubek, Ava and Greta Devine, Owen and Elin Gullingsrud, and Graham Larson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with a Prayer Service beginning in at 6:30pm, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley.
