Norman Morris Hanson, 84, Fertile, MN, died on Monday, August 29, 2016, at the Fair Meadow Nursing Home in Fertile.
He was born on September 7, 1931, to Philip and Christine (Motteberg) Hanson at home in Fertile. Norman attended the Fertile-Beltrami Public School, before entering the United States Army on September 16, 1952, serving in Korea. He was honorably discharged on June 19, 1954, and returned to Fertile.
Norman was married and they had one daughter. They moved close to Minneapolis where Norman worked road construction. He returned to Crookston, before moving to Fertile to help care for his mom. Norman worked in custodian supervisor at the Polk County Court House for many years. He entered the Fair Meadow Nursing Home on December 12, 2013.
Norman is survived by one daughter, Kristi (Rob) Meyer, Detroit Lakes, MN; one sister, Fran (Alvin) Gigler, Fertile, MN; nephews and nieces: Brad Bramer, Princeton, MN; Doug (Lisa) Gigler, Fargo, ND, Debi (Larry) Hagen, Moorhead, MN, and Pixi Macicek, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Phyllis Bramer, one brother-in-law, John Bramer and two infant sisters.
Funeral: Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at 2 PM at Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Fertile, MN.
Visitation: One hour before the service at Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Fertile, MN.
Burial: Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Fertile, MN.
