Norman Anderson, age 94, of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley.
Norman Andrew Anderson was born May 19, 1915 in Iowa. Early in his life, Norman moved with his family to a farm east of Twin Valley where he was raised and attended country school. As a young man Norman farmed and later did carpenter work, building many homes in the area as well as around the Fargo community. On September 25, 1987 Norman was united in marriage to Darlene Sagen at the Wild Rice Lutheran Church near Twin Valley. The couple made their home on Norman's farm near the Wild Rice River. He retired from active work at age 75. After selling their farm a few years ago, the couple moved to Mahnomen where Darlene continues to live. Norman entered the Twin Valley Living Center about a year ago where he resided until the time of his death.
Norman was a member of Wild Rice Lutheran Church. His favorite past times included fishing and horseback riding. He was also a charter member of the Twin Valley Riders Club which he was a long time active member.
Norman is survived by his wife, Darlene Anderson of Mahnomen, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
A Memorial Service was held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 8, 2009 in the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley. Officiating was Pastor Chad Peterson. Honorary bearers were Amos LaPort, Loren Lane, Robert Leslie, Burt Leslie, Bruce Carter and Donnie Jensen.
