Nancy Louise Brandt, 70, Ada, Minnesota, died on May 2, 2018, at Sanford Dialysis in Fargo, ND. Nancy was born on June 11, 1947, in San Diego, CA, to Thomas and Dorothy Stoops. She graduated from Crawford High School in 1965. She played the piano and flute. Nancy attended San Diego State University where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She majored in Home Economics and Education and graduated in June, 1969. She met Robert B. (Bob) Brandt from Ada, MN, at an SDSU vs. NDSU football game while he was in the Navy. Bob and Nancy married June 14, 1969, in San Diego and moved to Ada. They had five children; Elizabeth, Christine, Robert W., Gregory and Carolyn. She later attended North Dakota State University, studying Respiratory Therapy. She graduated at the top of her class in May, 1994, with a Bachelor of Science degree and Phi Kappa Phi honors.
While raising her children, Nancy participated in their activities and was a Sunday School teacher and a leader with the Jolly Co-Workers 4-H Club. She helped with farming operations and cooked two sit down meals each day for her family. Nancy was a University of Minnesota Master Gardener, and co-wrote gardening information columns for the Norman County Index. She enjoyed having a large vegetable garden and also had many flower beds. She was looking forward to seeing her tulips this spring. Nancy sewed beautiful quilts and was an avid collector of fabric. She and Bob played in a co-ed volleyball league for several years. She was on a bowling league and competed at state tournaments. She loved her grandchildren very much and hearing about their school activities and careers brought her joy. Nancy enjoyed collecting elephant figurines, reading, going to movies, doing puzzles, playing games and sneaking off to the casino. She is the reigning Scrabble champion in the family. She was known for her quick wit, humor, and she always had a joke to tell.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Joseph) Brainard, Twin Valley, MN; daughter Christine Brandt, West Fargo, ND; son Robert (Chasity) Brandt, Ada, MN; and daughter Carolyn (Anthony) Panchella, Savanah, GA. "Granny Nanny" is also survived by Bethany (Hari) Panjini, Jordan Brainard, Jacob Brainard, Joseph Brainard, Sage Brandt, Tiffiny Brandt, Giorgia Brandt, Miya Brandt, Bree Brandt, Anthony Panchella, Zach Panchella, and a step grandchild. She leaves behind a brother Thomas Stoops, KY; aunt Evangeline Homer, Ramona, CA, many cousins, nieces, nephews and her little roommate, Mini (shih tzu).
She is preceded in death by her husband Bob, son Gregory, mother Dorothy, father Thomas, and step-father Kelly Nobles.

11:00AM Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Ada, MN.
Visitation: Monday, May 7, 2018 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM with a 6:30PM prayer service at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.
Burial: St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ada, MN.
