Myrtle Nysetvold, age 94, of Twin Valley, MN, died Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley, MN.

Myrtle was born on January 15, 1924 to Carl and Helen (Berg) Boberg in Borup, MN. She grew up in the Borup and Twin Valley communities, where she graduated from the Twin Valley High School in 1943. After graduation, Myrtle was employed as a secretary for the OtterTail Power Company and later for a brief time at Zion Lutheran Church. She made the move to Oregon, where she worked for the Oregon State School for the Blind. She returned to the Twin Valley area in the late 1950's. Myrtle was united in marriage to Miles Nysetvold on July 19, 1959 in Twin Valley. The couple lived in Minneapolis, MN for two years before moving to Watertown, SD where Miles was an administrative assistant/business manager at Grace Lutheran Church. In 1966, they moved to Castlewood, SD where they made their home for 15 years while Miles served as the pastor of the American Lutheran Church. They later moved to Viborg, SD where they served the Spring Valley Lutheran Church for seven years. In 1988, they retired and returned to Twin Valley to make their home. After Miles's death, Myrtle continued to remain in her home until 2010 when she moved into the Twin Valley Living Center.

Myrtle was a very caring and helpful person. She devoted her life to God and teaching His word. She volunteered in numerous positions at the various churches throughout her life. She also taught Adult Bible Study, volunteered at the nursing home, was involved with the Alzheimer's Support Group, and was a Hospice Volunteer.

Myrtle is survived by her son, Marvin (Theresa) Nysetvold of Slayton, MN; her daughter, Marilyn (Tom) Johnson of Ham Lake, MN; six grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Westby of Virginia, MN. She is preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Carlyle Boberg and O'Dell (Dell) Boberg.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:00 PM, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, Twin Valley, on Monday, May 7, 2018. Visitation will also be one hour before the funeral at the church on Tuesday.
