Myron
Anderson
Apr 5, 1950 — Apr 23, 2020
Twin Valley
Myron Anderson, age 70, of Twin Valley, MN, died on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.
Myron Duane, the son of Gilman and Elvina (Pederson) Anderson, was born on April 5, 1950 in Crookston, MN and grew up on the family farm near Twin Valley. Myron was baptized, confirmed and later married at Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley. In 1969, Myron graduated from Twin Valley High School. A few short years later, on April 16, 1971, he married his high school classmate and love of his life, Cheryl Skaurud. They have spent the last 49 years together farming, raising their family, riding horse, and making memories. In addition to farming, Myron also worked for the city of Twin Valley as a part-time police officer for over 25 years. He learned many trades by watching others and was always willing to help a friend with his skills. He especially enjoyed the trades of butchering, both for himself and others, and serving as the area's amateur livestock veterinarian. Myron had sold his cattle but kept busy helping neighbors. A cowboy at heart, Myron's true passion was horses. He was active with the Twin Valley Riders Club, serving as a past president, and he loved participating in Fun Shows and Ranch Rodeos. For many years, Myron worked the Mounted Patrol at WeFest Country Music Celebration and served on the Wild Rice Township Board. Myron was happiest when he was riding, which is a trait he shared with his children and grandchildren. He was a proud father and grandpa who loved to tease, joke around, and spend time with his family. Myron also looked forward to deer hunting season and hosting deer camp each year.
Myron is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Twin Valley; his children: Jammy (Melanie) of Twin Valley, Greg (Cindy) of Gary, MN and Kari (Ron) Visser of Clear Lake, SD; his grandchildren: Abby (Mitch) and Brandon Anderson, Shaina, Logan, and Grant Visser; two brothers, David (Dianne) of Havre, MT and Donald of Gary, MN; his parents-in-law: Clayton and Phyllis Skaurud of Twin Valley; brothers-in-law: Kelly (Vicki) Skaurud and Perry (Kathleen) Skaurud, both of Gary, MN; sister-in-law: Sandra (Mark) Bergeson of Canton, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Kirk Skaurud.
A Public Drive Through Goodbye, for this much-loved local cowboy, will take place from 12:30pm until 2:00pm on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Twin Valley. Friends are welcome to drive through the cemetery, during this time, to view and honor Myron as well as share a wave of comfort to his family. Immediate family will gather at 2:00 pm, for a graveside service, with extended family and friends invited to watch from their vehicles. A video recording of the service will be available here, shortly following the committal ceremony.
"Heart to Heart, Never Apart" is a new service we are implementing to help offer support to families facing private services at this time. This will give those not attending an opportunity to share a token of love and support. Hearts will be placed at the service location. Please call or email the funeral home directly to have a Heart Placed in your name, showing the family you are there with them in spirit. andersonfamilyfh@arvig.net
