Obituary

Morris E. Bredman, age 86, of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, in the Palliative Care Unit at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota.

Morris E. Bredman was born June 3, 1920, the son of Carl and Tilla (Thompson) Bredman near Twin Valley, Minnesota, where he grew up and attended country school. As a young man, Morris farmed with his father northeast of Twin Valley. On June 15, 1941, Morris was united in marriage to Gladys Waller on her parents' farm southeast of Twin Valley. The couple operated a farm northeast of Twin Valley until moving into Twin Valley in 1980. Over the years, Morris worked various jobs while operating his farm. They included American Crystal Sugar in Crookston, Minnesota, working at Great Plains Lumber Yard in Twin Valley for many years as well as driving school bus. He also spent several years transporting residents from the nursing home to appointments in town and out of town. Gladys died August 26, 1997. In April of 2001, Morris moved into the Normandy Apartments in Twin Valley where he had continued to make his home.

Morris enjoyed the outdoors. He loved spending time fishing, camping, doing woodworking and traveling in their motor home. Morris was a life long member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as cemetery sexton for many years. He also served on the Wild Rice Township Board for 33 years, the Twin Valley Shipping Association for 34 years and on the Federal Land Bank Association from 1964 to 1980. Morris was active in 4-H serving as a leader for more than 25 years. In 1996, being a Lions Club member, he was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow Award.

Morris is survived by two sons, David (Shirley) of Barnesville, MN and Danny (Kathy) of Ada, MN; brothers, Clifford of Sutherlin, OR and Calman (LaVerne) of Ada, MN; a sister, Delores (Curt) Varvel of Modesto, CA; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers, Clarence and Milton

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 24 at 10:30 AM in Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley, Minnesota. Officiating will be Pastor Charles Bade with Danette Gwin serving as organist and Terri Dahlen serving as vocalist. Pallbearers will be JoLene St. Pierre, Darin Bredman, Dion Bredman, Derek Bredman, Shaun Bredman, Laura Bredman and Cody Bredman. Visitation will be on Monday, April 23 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM in the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley. Visitation will also be one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.

Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley, MN.
