Minnie Sip
Minnie T. Sip, 98, of Ada, Minnesota, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at Bridges Care Community, Ada.
Minnie Tolletta Sand, was born on June 6, 1911, in Hegne Township, Norman County, MN, to John and Caroline (Peterson) Sand. She was baptized and confirmed in the Concordia Lutheran Church, near Hendrum, MN, and attended rural schools southwest of Ada. She was united in marriage to Louis E. Sip, Jr., of Ada, on January 22, 1930, and they settled on a farm northeast of Ada. They later moved to their present farm in 1942, located north of Ada and she resided there until she entered Bridges Care Community, in April 2007. They were members of Grace Lutheran Church, Ada. Louis died May 24, 1972. She was also a member of the Good Will Club and was active in the Ada Senior Citizens, including the Ada Senior Citizens Choir, who performed at several area churches and community events. Minnie was a homemaker and worked on the farm with her husband, milking cows, doing farm chores, picking potatoes, shocking grain, cooking for hired men and caring for her family.
She is survived by her son, Loyal (Karen), Ada, MN; grandchildren, Debra (Joe) Icenogle, Broomfield, CO; Heidi (Randy) Lyman, Owatonna, MN; Robert (Amy) Sip, Sartell, MN; Anthony (Lorra) Sip, Ada, MN; and Randall (Marti) Sip, Park Rapids, MN; great-grandchildren Drew and Reese Icenogle; Brandon Underdahl; Grant, Lauren, Olivia, Mitchell, Jacob, Karly, Kaleigh and Jaden Sip; one sister-in-law, Orleen Sip, Ada, MN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Lois Jane, brothers, Bernhard, Henry, Alvin, Arnold; an infant sister Josie; sisters Gunda Sandy, Josie Bergman and Amanda Bergman.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, March 26, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.
Visitation: Thursday from 5:00-7:00PM at Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada.
Burial: Ada City Cemetery, Ada, MN
