Ivah Minerva (Stundahl) Ford, 88 of Twin Valley, MN, died peacefully Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Twin Valley Living Center in Twin Valley, Minnesota. Minerva was born on January 21, 1924 to Lars and Bella (Nygaard) Stundahl in Flom, MN. She was raised near Flom and attended school both there and in Twin Valley. She was confirmed on October 3, 1937 at Wild Rice Lutheran Church rural Twin Valley. On February 20, 1946, she married the love of her life Donald B. Ford. They lived on their farm in Wild Rice township until 1990. They were blessed with many wonderful years together and were fortunate enough to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in 2006.
Minerva worked in the kitchen at the Living Center for several years preparing countless meals for the residents made with her loving heart and hands. She had a wonderful sense of humor which she chose to share willingly with those around her. One had to be quick to keep up with her. The memory of her words of advice and wisdom, which often put a smile on your face and left joy in your heart, will be a gift to all for years to come.
During her life she enjoyed playing guitar, crocheting, completing daily crossword puzzles, participating in her bible study classes, and beating anyone in a good clean game of dice or cards. She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Twin Valley.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Verona Schaffer of Moorhead, MN and brother-in-law Larry L. Ford of Detroit Lakes, MN. She has many nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved dearly. Minerva was fortunate enough to have a second family at the Living Center who embraced her and treated her as their own.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Ford, one brother, Elster Stundahl and three sisters, Bernice Forsell, Lillian Low, and Dolores Riste.
