Inez Mildred (Millie) Halvorson passed away Friday, July 13, 2007 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota, at the age of 97.
Millie was born November 25, 1929 to Bernard and Clara (Fuglie) Wang at Ulen, Minnesota. She stayed with her grandparents, Ole and Jennie Fuglie while going to grade school and high school in Ulen. Millie graduated from Concordia College on a scholarship. She taught Latin, English and Math at Gary, Minnesota, High School for 48 years. Millie was united in marriage to Manford Rudolph Halvorson in 1939 in Ulen. The couple had no children. Manford died September 14, 1966.
After her retirement, Millie did extensive traveling, both in the United States and abroad. She moved to Moorhead in 1988, where she had continued to make her home.
Millie is survived by one brother, Vernon Wang of Moorhead, MN; four sisters, Eleanor Braseth of Mahnomen, MN, Clarice Hilde and Ruth Nelson both of Ulen, MN and Frances Hogenson of Moorhead, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and two brothers.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 19, at 10:30 AM in the Gary Lutheran Church, Gary, MN. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff McCracken with Dennis Everson serving as vocalist. Pallbearers will be Leslie Hilde, David Hilde, Donald Hilde, Waldo Hilde, Ernest Hilde and David Braseth.
Visitation will be one hour before services at the church.
Interment will be in Ness Lutheran Cemetery, Gary, MN.
