Michael J. Pannell Sr., age 48, of Fisher, MN, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Michael John Pannell Sr., was born January 10, 1967, in Fort Leonard wood, MO, to John Pannell (Sandra Jappe Pannell) and Shala Winter. Growing up in a military family, Mike moved often. He spent time in Mahnomen, MN, Chippewa Falls, WI, Lawton, OK, and Merced, CA, where he graduated from high school. Shortly after graduation, Mike joined the Army. He lived and worked in CA, WI, NM and Lawton, OK. In 2012, while working in Lawton, Mike crossed paths with an old friend, Julie Bauer. They lived together in Lawton until moving to Fisher, MN, and have enjoyed living in their home for the past 2 years. Mike worked for Simplot in Grand Forks, ND, and loved his Maintenance Engineering job.
Mike enjoyed life and was proud of his Native American heritage. He loved four-wheeling with his dog George, fishing, camping and spending time at the lake. Mike liked to keep busy and was an accomplished carpenter, mechanic and machinist. He loved to go out to eat and enjoy a good piece of red meat, especially prime rib.
Mike is survived by his parents, John and Sandra Pannell; Julie Bauer and her children, Raquel and Lukas; his brother, Daniel Pannell; three nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Greg and Dorothy Thielen, Johnny Pannell, Ralph and Cora Winter, and his Uncle, Paul Pannell.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen, MN. Time of gathering will be one hour before the service.
