Michael "Mike" Larson, age 73, of Gary, MN, died Monday, January 28, 2019 in his residence.

Michael Allen Larson was born to Arnie and Alfhild (Aas) Larson on November 16, 1945 in Ada, MN. He was raised north of Gary where he was baptized and a lifelong member of Sundal Lutheran Church. Growing up, Mike attended Gary Public school where he was very active in track, basketball, and football throughout high school. Following his graduation in 1963, Mike went to work near Halstad for a farmer. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, DeAnn Grieve on November 7, 1964 at Green Meadow Church, rural Ada, MN. The couple made their home on the family farm and were blessed with four children: Jeff, Kristi, Melissa, and Terry. Mike worked building elevators before taking over the family farm. He also worked at Gary Ag for over 30 years. Mick and DeAnn continued to make their home on the family farm until Fall of 2018 when they moved into town.

Hunting and family were Mike's true passions. He passed down his love for bow hunting to both his children and grandchildren. He had a way about him that he could fix anything to make it work. Mike enjoyed cooking meals for family and friends on his open-fire grill; as well as riding four-wheeler and spending time at the hunting shack. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and tried to attend all special events and games.

Michael is survived by his wife of 54 years, DeAnn; two sons, Jeff (Roxanne) of Williston, ND, and Terry (Caty) of Gary; two daughters, Kristi (Buck) Engen of Gary, and Melissa (Tyler) Mosher of Fertile, MN; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Cuellar of Gary; and two brothers, Keith Larson of Denver, CO and John (Mary) Larson of Fargo, ND. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Marion Larson.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Gary Lutheran Church, Gary. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:00pm, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, Twin Valley, on Friday, February 1, 2019.
