Obituary

Michael W. Bendickson, age 45, of Crookston, MN, died on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Moorhead Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Moorhead, MN.

Michael Wayne Bendickson was born to Alton Bendickson (Bejou MN) and Lois Buschette (Bejou, MN) on July 14,1978. Mike attended school in Twin Valley, MN. When he was young, he enjoyed video games, comic books, collecting cards, and enjoying time at his family's resort.

As a young man, Mike worked a lot of construction jobs often with his uncle Kenny and stepdad George Boe. In 2005, Mike met Bobie in Montana and they were married in 2006 when they moved back to Minnesota together. Soon after, their first child was born. Kadence Bendickson was born in 2007. A few years later they welcomed Anastasia Bendickson in 2009. Though they divorced and could argue about everything, they came together to co-parent their children. After Bobie had another child, Rylan, Mike proudly took on the father role for him as well even though he wasn't his biological father and Mike was no longer with Bobie. Mike took a lot of pride in being a father and had a special bond with each and every one of his children. Mike had lost his younger brother in 2015. His brother has a son, Ethan, who Mike also formed a special bond with. Mike enjoyed watching Ethan grow up, and Ethans siblings as well. Maybe it was because Mike was just a big kid himself, but he enjoyed hanging out with all of the kids.

Mike was working for crystal sugar, up until some health issues happened in the last few years. He was so proud of his job and moved his way up into different positions. As an adult, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling food, video games, and visiting his brother, Billy, in Washington- but probably his favorite was fighting with his sister, Tonya. Though they may have fought often, it was only out of the love they had for one another. And they both had the others back, and no one else was allowed to argue with his sister. He was always there to give advice, whether you wanted it or not. Because of course he was "Michael Mother F****** Bendickson"

We are to this point in life for a reason, and that reason is Mike's life was far from perfect. However, today and every day we would like to look back on the happy memories that were created. He was loved by so many and thank you to all of those who showed support to his kids and family.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Alton Bendickson; grandparents, Bert and Albertha Bendickson and Lawrence and Rosemary Buschette; his brother, Nathan Boe; stepfather George Boe; Barbara and Norlien Flakne, Laura Bendickson, Earl and Kathy Buschette.

Mike leaves behind many close family and friends. His son, Kadence; daughter, Anastasia; extra son, Rylan; extra son, Ethan; his mom, Lois; his sister, Tonya; his brother, William and wife Tammy; his sister, Shirley; and the mother of his children, Bobie. He also had many nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly: Serenity, Trysta, Kiana, Brandy (Cliff), Tevin (Lyla), Kya Mae, Kingston, Mateo, Keevin, Steven (Sarah), Ambrielle.
